New For Collectors
White Elephant Mine, Pringle, SD. The White Elephant Mine produced quantities of fine rose quartz and large black tourmaline sheaves at one time, but is pretty picked over by now. This is the larger of two gems cut from one piece, probably the largest rose quartz gem I ever cut from material I found in South Daktoa. Has several small veils, but overall very clean and attractive, not a lot of typical haze. Better than picture, rose quartz is tough to photograph accurately, even on a mirror. Cut corner triangle cardinal cut. 31.04 cts, and measures 22.5 mm.
(Stock # RQPT-3104) $310.
|Rose Quartz, South Dakota. 10.46 ct 4-3 triad cut, 14.3 mm. Eyeclean (EC). One of the best pieces of rough I personally collected on the old dumps about 40 years ago when you could still find cool stuff. Very nice color and clarity. It probably came from the White Elephant Mine near Pringle or the Wiley Mine near Custer. A real collectors item. (Stock #RQPT-1046) $209.20|
|Rose Quartz, pink, 1.80ct., checkerboard oval, EC but hazy, Pringle, So Dakota.|
Rare locality for faceted rose quartz. Light pink stones are very hard to properly photograph.
$9.00 (Stock #RQPO-0180)
|Rose Quartz, pink, 6.92ct., opposed bar cut, EC, 7.5x20.0mm, Madagascar.
Great clean rose quartz with a bit of a mauve or purply tinge to the pink. Doesn't have much "sleepiness" compared to a lot of rose quartz gems.
$48.44 (Stock #RQPO-0692)

Faceted Colorado rose quartz from Texas Creek, CO, are rare and I don't have many left. And currently I am not able to get more faceted grade faceted rough as the mine owner closed the mine to collecting.
|PLEASE NOTE: Much effort has been made in the attempt to get as accurate a picture as possible of our gemstones. Keep the following in mind while shopping: Cameras do not see color exactly the same as the human eye and lighting conditions often cause large variances. When taking pictures for the web, we have found that it is very difficult to capture the brilliance that the human eye sees and photos cannot often show all of the stones' ambiance and jewelry pieces' fine detail. Also computer monitors vary and often color tones are set to suit the viewer's preferences. When shopping, remember that "the pictures are meant as a rough guide only." All our products have a money-back guarantee (see terms above) so there is no risk in ordering from the Buena Vista Gem Works.|
